Born April 14, 1948. Eddie voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at age 18, was wounded at age 20, and released from active duty at age 21. He served in the military from June, 1966 through July, 1969 during the Vietnam War.
Combat veterans encounter many challenges during wartime that most civilians cannot imagine nor understand. Our failure to comprehend makes it difficult for veterans to share or communicate their experiences and frustrates their attempts to be understood.
Eddie & Vivian met November, 2000 in DeSoto, Texas. They exchanged vows "until death do us part" on March 19, 2004 at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. Pictured is the limousine ride back to their honeymoon suite at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino.

Rescue chopper similar to the helicopter pictured left rescued this U.S. Marine and fellow comrades from the battlefield in Vietnam where he was injured on May 16, 1968.
The U.S.S. Naval Hospital ship, similar to one pictured at right, carried this U.S. Marine from Dong Ha, Vietnam to Yokosuka, Japan to Corpus Christi, TX for further treatment and recovery.
Finally, after 40 years of searching for his injured brother, fellow Marine Santo Ciabattari (pictured here) along with Mike (pictured below) finds Eddie (left of each) in DeSoto, TX. Their bond of brotherhood, broken 40 years ago when injured May 16, 1968, was restored in May, 2008. Eddie had felt "abandoned by The Marine Corps" until these two men showed up with nothing but love for their brother, restoring his faith in the brotherhood.

Yes, after 40 years, Marine buddy, Michael Jernagin (pictured right), along with Santo (pictured above) renewed Eddie's faith and rekindled the strong bond of brotherhood in May, 2008. After that initial encounter in 2008, these men met each year, thereafter, around May 16th (date they were wounded) up through 2013 (year Eddie passed) to commemorate the day they were all injured in Vietnam and celebrate their coming together again.
